AK Compass – a directional compass used in the Warsaw Pact armies.
The compass was adopted as equipment by the Polish military after World War II. The plastic body is equipped with a magnetic needle in a box with a lid and a mirror. Azimuth is determined using the sights (front and rear sight), the mirror, and the rotating limbus with a scale in thousandths. The main directions are marked on the dial with Polish abbreviations (North, West, South, and West). A leather case is provided for carrying the compass.
These compasses are often used to this day in the Polish Army.
